Singing Members

The Richmond Men’s Chorus holds auditions throughout the year for singing members. At the beginning of each concert period, the Chorus accepts new singing members. Men are selected based on a vocal interview. The interview focuses on ability to sing on pitch and to blend within the assigned section and the chorus as a whole. Members must be able to attend weekly rehearsals on Monday nights from 7-9 pm at Imperial Plaza in Richmond’s North Side. Members also give a yearly financial contribution.

Prospective members are always welcome to attend a rehearsal; iIt will provide a chance to meet some of the members, to see how rehearsals are run, and to get a feel for singing with the chorus before an audition. Members must be 18 years or older by the date of the first rehearsal in order to sing with the chorus.

Richmond Men's Chorus begins fall rehearsals on Monday, September 14, 2009.

Our season runs from early September to early June, and includes 4 major public performances/appearances and approximately 10 other performances for public and private organizations.

Non-Singing Members

The Fifth Section consists of non-singing members who serve as ushers and ticket sellers, as well as helping with mailings, production work, and merchandise sales. It provides a great way to participate for women and for men who don't sing or can't work rehearsals into their schedules. Auditions and dues are not required to be a Fifth Section Member.

If you are interested in becoming a member of the Fifth Section, please e-mail Tim Gillham (info@richmondmenschorus.org) or call him (804-241-0446).
