When you find out that you have a talent that most people don’t, it can be a little overwhelming at first. Those first few years of learning an instrument can be incredibly stressful but at the same time very rewarding.
Developing an instrument from scratch is certainly not an easy task. It takes time, commitment, and a lot of constant failures. For HUTCH, learning to play the drums, record and produce was just another way of life.
Hailee, also known as HUTCH, started playing the drums at the age of 7. She describes her mother watching her on the drum kit knowing instantly that HUTCH would be a musician when she grew up. HUTCH is also a snowboarder, music producer and rock music enthusiast, with a large fan base on Instagram.
Since high school, Hailee started going through HUTCH, because people told her she didn’t look like a “Hailee”. Since then, HUTCH has been creating beats and riding the drums. She performed with School of Rock for several years, gave numerous concerts with popular artists and groups like LA Salami, Royal Bliss, Earl Slick and many others.
Despite the pandemic, HUTCH subscribers continued to grow and expand on social media. Whether she’s sharing a brand new drop with LA Salami or a recent photoshoot, it’s clear that HUTCH is living her life to the fullest and nothing is going to stand in her way.
Real musicians understand that the role of the drummer is perhaps the most important responsibility of the group. HUTCH’s mission is to respectfully promote the name “drummer”, and it does it in its own way.
When asked if she could change anything about the music industry, HUTCH replied, “I wish people would give drummers more attention and credit.”
Not only does HUTCH want to shine the spotlight on drummers around the world, but its funky, punchy genre and smooth drum capabilities bring back one of the most important elements of the drum kit: passion.
HUTCH remembers listening to Michael Jackson and other artists during the ’80s and’ 90s growing up. She credits much of her musical success to her father for giving her this musical inspiration at an early age.
After a few years of playing numerous concerts and completing two summer programs at Berklee College of Music in Boston, HUTCH has now launched its own website: JustHutch.com.
It’s clear that HUTCH is on the right path to success and notoriety, but she’s doing it in her humble way. His sincerity, honesty and commitments are reflected in his presence on social networks. Unlike other accounts with many followers, HUTCH genuinely cares about its growing fan base and regularly responds and interacts with the people who support its musical journey. This is really what it is and talented musicians like HUTCH have understood it.
With new music on the way, be sure to stay up to date with HUTCH’s Journey; I promise it will be worth watching.
