Tour professionals return to work as live music returns

NASHVILLE, Tennessee (WTVF) – Touring professionals will be back on the road soon with musicians across the country.

Those who live in Nashville report groups and artists book tours and hire staff for the summer. Alli Harvey, a tour professional with over a decade of experience, was hired to tour with Green Day.

Harvey sets up locker rooms and has an impressive resumes of top notch clients such as Beyonce, Bon Jovi and most recently Billie Eilish.

“The first date is only July 24, but all of the pre-production has already started,” Harvey said.

When the pandemic struck last March, shows for touring professionals were quickly canceled. For almost a year, many of them were unable to pursue their careers and either switched to new jobs or depended on unemployment.

However, the tours started as abruptly as they started.

“The artists want to go and they are starting to bring their teams together,” Harvey said. “When the green light, when it was all gone, now it really was a hit. So now most of my friends have now gotten calls from groups they’ve worked for in the past.”

Other tourism professionals also join the artists. With the big festivals planning their regular shows, a lot of jobs are coming back that have been lost.

“I’m really excited. You miss the hectic days, miss your friends on the road, the lights going out and the crowds cheering and being a part of it. You miss the paycheck, that’s for sure. that kind of alleviates that stress, ”she said.
