Janet Jackson documentary trailer shares release date details [Video]

Janet, the next Janet Jackson documentary, has shared its official trailer in preparation for its 2022 release date. The new film will premiere on January 28 via A&E and Lifetime.

Arrived as a two-part, four-hour documentary, Janet will offer viewers a rare and unique glimpse into Jackson’s historic musical life and career. Typically a closed book, international pop star, Rock & Roll Hall of Famer, and five times Grammy Award The winner will open because, as she says in the trailer, “It’s just something that needs to be done.” Janet will focus on Jackson’s youth who grew up in Gary, IN, his infamous wardrobe dysfunction during the Super Bowl XXXVIII Halftime Show, his relationship with his brother Michael jackson, and all the rest.

The 3:20 trailer released by Lifetime on Saturday highlights some of the star talent interviewed for this documentary. It includes appearances of Missy elliot, Tyler perry, Mariah carey, Samuel L. Jackson, Janelle Monae, Whoopi goldberg, Teyana taylor, and more. In addition to these exclusive interviews, the Ben hirsch– made documentary will also feature never-before-seen footage of Jackson’s childhood and the music career that followed.

Executive produced by Janet Jackson and her brother Randy Jackson, Janet premieres this Jan. 28 on Lifetime and A&E, the anniversary of his self-titled 1982 debut album. Check out the official trailer below and head on over to it. here for more information.
