Pitmasters to face off at BBQ Music Fest in Fountain Valley – Whittier Daily News

The woodsy aroma of smoked and grilled meats will fill the air as BBQ Music Fest returns to Fountain Valley Sports Park August 19-21.

The three-day family event will feature a barbecue competition between award-winning national pitmasters and local grills who will showcase their best pork chops, pulled pork, fiery chicken, tri-tip and other popular dishes. Competitors will battle it out for the title of Best BBQ and it all depends on who takes home the coveted People’s Choice Award.

Dishes grilled by these competitors will be available for purchase. There will also be a food court stacked with a variety of barbecue plates and sides as well as non-barbecue options from local restaurants, including Mexican, Chinese and Thai dishes and desserts.

While barbecue masters do their thing behind the grill, fans can enjoy live music from tribute bands like Hollywood U2, tribute band The Police and Sting Ghost in the Machine, 80s cover band The Reflexx and the 80s and 90s tribute band Knyght Ryder. There will also be kid-friendly entertainment and activities, carnival games and rides, DJs spinning throughout the event, and the Karaoke Lounge, where guests can sing along to their favorite songs with a live band on stage. .
